Alabo Boma Iyaye Visits Borikiri–Okrika Bridge, Reassures Community on Compensation
The Executive Director, Finance and Administration of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Alabo (Hon.) Boma Iyaye, Esq., has visited the Borikiri–Okrika Bridge project site in Port Harcourt and Okrika Local Government Area to assure residents that compensation will be paid.
He confirmed that, with the estate valuer’s work completed, compensation will be disbursed shortly, allowing construction to begin on the Port Harcourt side, while work at the Okrika end is already underway.
During the visit, Mr Iyaye met with HRH King Berechiri W. Yemaiya, Olomu-Ogbogbo Ama Amanyanabo of the Ancient Borikiri Kingdom, as well as project engineers and contractors, emphasising the Commission’s commitment to fairness and to providing timely support to affected residents.
The project involves three bridges—Kolabi, Abotoru, and Okpoka—and a two-lane carriageway with pedestrian walkways, aimed at improving mobility and safety for the communities. It is being executed by Promaxist International Limited, with Griphon Engineering Services Limited acting as the consulting firm.
