Abuja, Nigeria – In a significant development, Alabo Dr. Emi Membere-Otaji, DSSRS, NPoM, OON, has been appointed as a Member of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council, representing the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA).

The appointment, which takes immediate effect, was approved by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in line with the provisions of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council Act, Cap N133, Laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
A distinguished medical doctor, business leader, and respected voice in Nigeria’s economic and maritime sectors, Dr. Membere-Otaji brings decades of experience in both private enterprise and public service. He has held numerous leadership positions, including former President of the Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce and a consistent advocate for industrial growth and policy reform.
The Nigerian Shippers’ Council plays a pivotal role in regulating and promoting efficiency within Nigeria’s shipping, trade, and logistics sectors. Dr. Membere-Otaji’s appointment is expected to further strengthen the Council’s mandate, especially in advocating for private sector interests and improving the ease of doing business in the maritime industry.
