Commences Installation of Solar Power

Bayelsa State Government says it has recorded an unprecedented growth and taking in N4.2 billion in a single month, representing a staggering 320 percent increase in its internally generated revenue (IGR).

A statement from the office of Senator Douye, the Governor of the State, attributed the increase to the innovative electronic ticketing system that was approved and used effectively by the Chairman of the State Internal Revenue Board, Dr. Daniel Eniekezimene.

The e-ticketing system demonstrates the commitment of the government to transparency and accountability.

What it also helped to solve is effectively blocking leakages in IGR collection while also ensuring better accounting practice.

The Bayelsa State Government believes that with the e-ticketing system, greater heights will be achieved in revenue generation, which will ultimately benefit the people of the State.

Also, the Government has also commenced the installation of CCTV cameras across Yenagoa, the State Capital as captured in the 2024 budget.

The project included the installation of 200 new high-definition cameras and the upgrade of 50 existing ones.

This expected to enhance real-time surveillance, strengthen crime prevention and support law enforcement efforts in maintaining public safety.
