Degema Local Government Area (DELGA) youths are gaining valuable skills through a two-week empowerment and training program that kicked off on February 24th. Hon. Elvis Osima Gogo, Supervisor for Youths, announced that the program offers training in ten key skill sets, designed to boost employability and foster self-reliance.
The training covers a range of in-demand skills, including Forklift Operation, Industrial Scaffolding, Oilfield Rigging, Steel Fixing, Industrial Plumbing, Sandblasting, Industrial Spray Painting, Health Safety and Environment, Solar Installation, and Pipe Fitting.
Hon. Gogo explained that the administration of Hon. Dr. Agiriye Monima Harry has partnered with the Onshore and Offshore Safety Institute to deliver this valuable training. He also revealed that a second, more extensive, empowerment program, lasting for a longer duration, will begin in March. Participants will receive certificates upon completion of the program.
