The Catholic Women Organization (C.W.O) of St. Francis Catholic Church Rumuokwuta, Port Harcourt honored and conferred Engr. Sir Adokiye Tombomieye with The Grand Ambassador of Charity Extraordinaire Award, Distinguished Iconic Couple of Inspiration Award, and the Outstanding Professional Man of Excellence and Inspiration of the Year Award on the 30th of March, 2025 which also coincided with the day dedicated to celebrating women, women’s day. 
The Grand Ambassador of Charity Extraordinaire Award is an award conferred on notable and distinguished personalities who have reached the highest of high ideals in undertaking conspicuous deed in the acts of charity for humanity and are consistent and influential advocates for the rights of women and children.
Engr. Sir Adokiye Tombomieye OON, FNSE, the former executive vice president upstream, Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) who doubled as the father of the day and his dear wife Lady Agamy Tombomieye was also honored with the Distinguished Iconic Couple of Inspiration Award.
The Distinguished Iconic Couple of Inspiration Award is a prestigious recognition given to couples who inspire others with their remarkable relationship, achievements, and contributions to society. This award celebrates couples who have made a significant impact, demonstrated exceptional commitment, and served as role models for others.
Engr. Sir Adokiye Tombomieye who was also recognized for his commitment to excellence, integrity, and transparency, with accolades from his professional life with an award of Outstanding Professional Man of Excellence and Inspiration of the Year Award speaking at the award service expressed how deeply humbled his was receiving multiple awards from the Church.
“I am grateful for this recognition, not just as a personal honor, but also as a testament to the power of grace, hope, and charity in our lives. As we gather today to celebrate Mother’s Day and the ‘Jubilee Year of Hope,’ I am reminded of the importance of living a life of purpose, compassion, and service to others.”
He thanked God for his life and that of his family and the opportunity to give reiterating that nothing given to God and charity is ever too much or enough.
He thanked the C. W. O. and the church for finding him worthy of these prestigious awards and recognition. And prayed that God bless everyone there present and guide them on their journey of faith, hope, and charity.”
Earlier Dr. Mrs. Nene Vik-Benibo LKSJI. the President of the Catholic Women Organization of the St. Francis Catholic Church Rumuokwuta, Port Harcourt Diocese during the Mother’s Day celebration in her welcome address on behalf of the loving and caring family of the church welcomed everyone to their 2025 Mother’s Day celebration. This year’s celebration is the third in her administration as president of the CWO. She expressed that it was an opportunity to celebrate the milestone and thanked God for giving them the privilege to be beneficiaries of motherhood.
This year’s Mother’s Day celebration was themed : “ A Hopeful Woman Walks and Works by Faith.” The theme has a deep spiritual dimension and is also very special as this year was proclaimed “the jubilee year of hope” by his holiness Francis with the theme: pilgrim of hope with a papal bul fitted “spes non confudit” meaning Hope Does Not Disappoint.
The women’s day celebration in St. Francis Catholic Church was spectacular because in the spirit of ecumenism CWO set out to recognize and award not just Notable Catholics but distinguished non-Catholic personalities who have impacted CWO, the church and humanity.
