EPP Set to Host Menopause Awareness Talk Shop 2.0, Empowers Market Women with Cash Support

The Enjoyment People’s Party (EPP), under its flagship initiative “A Circle of Happiness,” is set to host the Menopause Awareness Talk Shop 2.0 themed “Breaking the Silence Around Menopause.”

The event, scheduled for October 18, 2025, will take place at the King Edward Suite, 3 Esor Street, off Stadium Road by Dayspring Redeem, Port Harcourt, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. It will feature insightful discussions on the facts, myths, and symptoms of menopause, with presentations from Dr. Joyce Okagur, Hilda Dokubo, and a yet-to-be-unveiled mystery speaker.

According to the President of EPP, Mase Bob-Manuel, the Talk Shop aims to create awareness, dispel misconceptions, and foster open conversations around menopause — a topic that many women still find difficult to discuss openly.

“We want women to understand that menopause is not an end, but a beautiful transition that deserves empathy, knowledge, and support,” Bob-Manuel said.

As part of activities marking its 7th edition, the EPP also empowered seven market women with financial support to grow their small businesses. Each beneficiary received ₦30,000 during an outreach held in the market on September 19, 2025 — an initiative the organizers described as part of their ongoing effort to uplift hardworking women and promote community development.

“We thank God for blessing us to bless others. It feels good to stretch a hand in kindness to those who need it,” the organizers said, while appreciating the EPP executive members and supporters for their continued dedication.

Prominent members who played key roles in the initiative include Maseba Bob-Manuel, Adata Bio-Briggs, Makioba Bob-Manuel Olugbile, Sele May, Bola Shodeinde Bob-Manuel, Loveth Weyinmi Idegbesor, Jennifer Ibimina Princewill, Stephanie Yinkere, Emi Jim-George, and Gloria Emmanuel and others.

Encouraging the public to participate in the upcoming event, Bob-Manuel added:

“We’re all about enjoyment, empowerment, and emotional wellness. Choose happiness, not depression — come, learn, laugh, and connect.”
