FAMILY, FRIENDS BID FAREWELL TO LATE ENGR. DUMO EMANSON WEST.

At about 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 2, 2025, a service of songs was held in honor of Late Engr. Dumo Emanson West at the Oak Park Event Centre, Stadium Road by Air Force Junction, Aba Road, Port Harcourt, Rivers State. His remains arrived at the same venue by noon from Ashes to Ashes Funeral Home for his lying in repose. After the lying in state, a commendation service by the Church of God Mission was held in his honor. The commendation service began with solemn hymns, scripture readings, and prayers. The presiding minister, Bishop Pelemor Martins, admonished everyone to lead a good life, emphasizing that what we will be remembered for after death should be our driving force in life.

The Agape Squad of the Church of God Mission, which Late Engr. Dumo Emanson West was the pioneer and founder of, shared their heartfelt tribute and memories of his impact on their lives through drama presentations.

Late Engr. Dumo Emanson West, who passed away in Oslo, Norway on June 24, 2025, was born on August 18, 1968, to the families of Da Tobin Tom West, the Da Tom West of the Elebike Group of Houses, the Sumbio Balafama Barango, of the Da Tariah Group of Houses, all in Buguma City, Asari-Toru LGA, Rivers State; and Hon. Justice Jacob Osagie & Dame Barrister Elizabeth Isivbakhome Akhigbe of Ekpoma, Esan West LGA, Edo State.

Late Mr. Dumo Emanson West was the Deputy General Manager, Production Operations, FIRST E&P, FIRST Exploration & Petroleum Development Company. He served as the Global Operations & Waterflood Consultant for SHELL GLOBAL SOLUTIONS INTERNATIONAL BV from 2014 to 2018 and worked as the Offshore Installation Manager with Shell from 2010 to 2014. Despite being an engineer, he had a passion for the theatre and was a dedicated director of many groups.

As the only son of the late Mr. Emmanuel West of the Ekebike Group of Houses and the late Mrs. Virginia Emmanuel West of the Tariah Group of Houses, he grew up to become a voice of excellence and purpose in pioneering achievements.

In great numbers, his family, friends, members of the Church of God Mission Borikiri Bishopric Headquarters Port Harcourt, his colleagues and associates, schoolmates, extended family, and members of the public were in attendance, commiserating with the family of their late brother and friend.

May the soul of Engr. Dumo Emanson West rest in peace, and may his legacy continue to inspire everyone who knew him.
