Fubara Inspects Creek Road Market Project, Sets January 2027 Completion

Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, on Tuesday inspected the ongoing Creek Road Market project in Port Harcourt, stating it will be completed by January 2027.

The project, divided into three sections, is aimed at providing a more conducive space for traders who had long operated on roads due to congestion in the old market.

Fubara said the reconstruction became necessary to create adequate trading space and enable smooth rehabilitation of roads in the old Port Harcourt township, which had been affected by market spillover.

He was guided round the site by the contractor and state officials during the inspection.

Work has commenced in Section A, while Section B is set to begin soon. Section C will undergo excavation and filling due to its location on a borrow pit before construction starts.

The governor expressed satisfaction with the progress, describing the project as part of efforts to deliver quality infrastructure and urban renewal.
