Governor Fubara Attends National Executive Council Conference Opened by President Tinubu

Rivers State Governor, His Excellency Sir Siminalayi Fubara, on Monday, February 9, 2026, participated in the second edition of the National Executive Council (NEC) Conference, themed “Delivering Inclusive Growth and Sustainable National Development: The Renewed Hope National Development Plan.”

The Governor was represented at the conference by his deputy, Her Excellency Professor Ngozi Nma Odu. The event took place at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The first day of the conference featured high-level presentations and in-depth discussions focused on economic growth and sustainability. Eminent experts and policymakers deliberated on strategies for boosting Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and advancing inclusive financial growth across key sectors of the economy.

As a panelist, Professor Odu advocated a bottom-up approach to economic growth, drawing from Rivers State’s practical experiences. She highlighted key initiatives such as the Shugian Farm, the Oyigbo Cassava Processing Plant, and the State’s expanding Blue Economy strategy, which is designed to stimulate economic activities across coastal communities while strengthening local livelihoods.

She noted that these initiatives not only drive economic expansion but also promote sustainability and grassroots development, positioning Rivers State as a model for the successful implementation of the Renewed Hope agenda.

Panelists further examined frameworks for effective implementation and compliance, emphasizing that consistent adherence to established guidelines is critical to achieving long-term economic stability and sustainable national development.
