Grace City Church International Celebrates Apostle Charles Chukwudi Obiora Okonji on His Birthday
The 74th birthday of Apostle Charles Chukwudi Obiora Okonji was celebrated today, February 1, 2026, at Grace City Ministries, located at No. 35 Charles Okonji Street, off Apara Link Road, opposite NTA, Mgbuoba, Port Harcourt although his actual birthday is the 21st day of January. 
Apostle Okonji is the President of Greater Grace Rivers Outreach Worldwide (GGROW) and Senior Pastor of Grace City Church International. He is widely known for his deep knowledge of the Word, sound teaching, compassionate counseling, and generous spirit, serving as a father and mentor to many.
A trained Chemical Engineer, Apostle Okonji graduated from the Polytechnic University, Veszprém, Hungary, and also earned a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the same institution. His professional career spans roles at the Eleme Refinery, Alasa, and the Nigerian Agip Oil Company (NAOC), now Cando Oil and Gas, where he served as Operations Engineer at the Obiafu–Obrikom Gas Plant, Project Engineer during NGL plant construction, Head of Production at the Kwale Gas Plant, and Head of the Vendors Management Unit in the Materials Department.
He is married to Mrs. Chinwe Okonji. Speaking at the event, his wife, Mrs. Chinwe Okonji, described him as “an icon, our man of God and our daddy,” adding that he is a loving husband, a faithful servant of God, a pillar of strength to his family, and a man of unwavering integrity. She praised his humility, discipline, prayerful lifestyle, and selfless devotion to God’s work, noting that his life continues to inspire excellence, faith, and compassion in all who encounter him.
The celebration attracted members, friends, and well-wishers who expressed gratitude to God for his life and impact. Many shared testimonies of how he has been a blessing, a guiding father, and a constant source of support.
The 74th birthday celebration was a moment of thanksgiving, honor, and reflection on a life devoted to service, leadership, and faith.
