Hilda Dokubo RETURNS UNOPPOSED AS CHAIRMAN OF THE LABOUR PARTY, RIVERS STATE
The Labour Party in Rivers State has successfully concluded its congresses at the Ward, Local Government, and State levels, held nationwide on the 2nd, 4th, and 6th of December 2025, in strict compliance with the party’s constitution and national congress timetable.
At the State Congress held in Port Harcourt, Dr. Hilda Dokubo was returned unopposed as the substantive Chairman of the Labour Party in Rivers State, reaffirming the overwhelming confidence of party members across the 23 Local Government Areas.
The congress recorded an impressive participation of over 130 accredited delegates from across the state. The exercise was conducted under a peaceful and transparent atmosphere, with the full presence and monitoring of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), official observers from the Labour Party National Working Committee (NWC), and security agencies who ensured orderliness and compliance throughout the process.
Speaking after her confirmation, Dr. Dokubo expressed deep appreciation to party leaders, delegates, and stakeholders for their trust and support.
“I am profoundly honoured by this vote of confidence. This mandate is a call to service, commitment, and unity. Together, we will continue building a Labour Party in Rivers State that is strong, credible, and deeply connected to the aspirations of our people,” she stated.
Dr. Dokubo reaffirmed her commitment to strengthening internal party structures, enhancing grassroots mobilization, and advancing the Labour Party’s values of transparency, justice, and people-driven governance.
