A powerful delegation from the Kalabari ethnic nationality visited Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, on Tuesday, February 11th, on a historic solidarity visit to express deep gratitude for his administration’s impactful projects and appointments.
The visit showcased the unity and strong support the Governor enjoys within the Kalabari region.
The delegation, which comprised representatives from Degema, Asari-Toru, and Akuku-Toru LGAs, included prominent traditional rulers, chiefs, elders, opinion leaders, stakeholders, and political figures.
Speaking at the sidelines, the Executive Chairman of DELGA, Hon. Dr. Agiriye Monima Harry, emphasized the significance of the visit, stating that Governor Fubara’s achievements have earned him a special place in the hearts of the Kalabari people.
He highlighted the unprecedented benefits the region has received under Governor Fubara’s leadership. “The Kalabari people have never experienced such positive transformation in their political history,” Dr. Harry declared.
He expressed immense pride that DELGA is home to the Governor’s flagship project: the ongoing construction of the Trans-Kalabari Road.
This monumental N225 billion project will connect four Degema communities: Ogurama, Bakana, Bukuma, and Tombia to the mainland, a feat previously thought impossible.
Dr. Harry further emphasized the Kalabari people’s tradition of appreciating goodwill and assured Governor Fubara of their continued and steadfast support.
He affirmed their commitment to working alongside the Governor to consolidate his achievements and deliver good governance to all Rivers people.
The atmosphere was charged with enthusiasm and unity, demonstrating the strong bond between the Kalabari nation and Governor Fubara’s administration.
