ISMN Holds 2025 Annual Conference and AGM in Port Harcourt, Theme: “Strategic Leadership in a Disruptive Economy”
The Institute of Strategic Management of Nigeria (Chartered) successfully held its 2025 Annual Conference and 22nd Annual General Meeting in Port Harcourt with the theme, “Strategic Leadership in a Disruptive Economy: Driving Sustainable National Development.”
Delivering his welcome address, the President of the Institute, Mr. Alex Ndudi Enebeli, FSM, emphasized that disruption is now a constant in global and national systems, and only those who adapt through strategic thinking and execution will thrive. “Disruption is the new norm; adaptation is the pathway to succeed,” he stated, urging members to break traditional barriers through innovation and forward-looking strategies.
The conference opened with a robust panel session. Mallami Baba Yusuf, Group CEO of Global Investment and Trade Company (GITC), urged participants to embrace disruption and leverage it for strategic positioning, profit-making, and effective decision-making.
Also speaking at the session, Dr. Ejiro Otive-Igbuzor, FSM, CEO of Emerald International Development Services Ltd, delivered a keynote on Gender Equality, highlighting its crucial role in achieving national development goals.
Cultural heritage was prominently showcased during the evening session with performances from the United Iria Cultural Group of Kalabari and the Heritage Choral Ensemble, adding colour and tradition to the corporate atmosphere.
The Institute used the occasion to induct 327 new members, who were formally sworn in, committing to uphold the values and mission of the body.
Highpoint of the event was the presentation of awards to individuals for outstanding contributions in leadership and national development. Honourees included:
Mrs. Kemi Nana Nandap, FSM, Controller General of Nigeria Immigration Service, Chief Samuel Ogbuku, Managing Director, Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Mesh Maichibi, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, Controller General of Nigeria Customs Service.
In the media category, Ivy Davies Etokakpan was specially acknowledged for her contributions to media advocacy and visibility of strategic leadership narratives. Additionally, Honorary Fellow Awards were presented to select distinguished individuals in recognition of their service.
The high-level gathering brought together national leaders of the institute, past presidents, captains of industry, and strategic vendors for a day of knowledge-sharing, celebration, and cultural expression.
