Landmark University Holds 12th Convocation, Graduates 726 Students

Landmark University, Omu-Aran, Kwara State, on Friday, 31st October 2025, held its 12th Convocation Ceremony for 667 undergraduates and its 5th Convocation for 59 postgraduate students, marking the release of the Pathfinders 2025 Set. The graduates were charged to uphold the institution’s core values of Integrity, Spirituality, and Capacity Building as they move into the global space.

The ceremony, held at the University Multipurpose Building, was graced by the Chancellor, Dr. David Oyedepo; Pro-Chancellors of Landmark and Covenant Universities; the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kolawole Ajanaku; members of the Board of Regents; the Olomu of Omu-Aran, Oba Abdulraheem Oladele, and members of the Olomu-in-Council; Vice-Chancellors of visiting universities; faculty, parents, and well-wishers.

Proceedings opened with the National Anthem and Landmark University Anthem rendered by the LMU Band. The Registrar delivered the Welcome Address, followed by a Bible Reading led by the Secretary, Board of Regents.

The Admission to First and Higher Degrees was conducted by the Vice-Chancellor and the Chancellor. The ceremony also featured goodwill messages, presentation of awards to Best Graduating Students, and addresses from university leadership.

A total of 82 students graduated with First-Class Honours, underscoring the institution’s continued commitment to academic excellence. Vice-Chancellor Ajanaku highlighted Landmark University’s growing national and international recognitions, especially in research, innovation, agrarian reform, and leadership training.

The Pro-Chancellor charged the graduates to remain guided by the University’s core values, describing them as foundational principles for relevance and service. In his address, the Chancellor, Dr. David Oyedepo, urged the graduates to pursue diligence, discipline, and purpose-driven living, emphasizing that “greatness is a process, not an event.”

Best Graduating Students:

• College of Pure and Applied Sciences: Akinmusire Oluwabamisetemi Grace (CGPA 4.85)

• College of Agricultural Sciences: Samuel Oroshi Ooreoluwa (CGPA 4.85)

• College of Business and Social Sciences: Fetuga David Oluwasinaayomi (CGPA 4.94)

• College of Engineering: Madumere Onyekachi Samuel (CGPA 4.98) — Overall Best Graduating Student

The event culminated with the Turning of the Tassels, symbolizing the graduates’ transition into the world of leadership and impact.

Goodwill messages from dignitaries, including Oba Abdulraheem Oladele; Professor Timothy Anake (Covenant University); Professor Abel Olorunnisola (Dominion University); and Professor Shedrach Olufemi Akindele (Redeemer’s University), commended Landmark University’s consistent vision of grooming leaders with spiritual depth and intellectual competence.

The 12th Convocation reaffirmed the university’s mandate to raise global pathfinders equipped to drive transformative change across Africa and beyond.
