NDDC to Collaborate with Niger Delta Governors to Promote Unity and Fair Treatment of States

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has reaffirmed its commitment to partnering with the governments of the nine Niger Delta states to ensure fair treatment and equal opportunities for all, in accordance with its established quota system. This system, which is based on production ratios, aims to foster equality and unity among the states of the Niger Delta.
During a recent courtesy visit to Bayelsa State Governor, H.E. Sen. Douye Diri, the NDDC Managing Director, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, highlighted the commission’s dedication to equitable distribution of resources. “Our board and management have resolved to ensure that every state benefits fairly, based on the established sharing formula, so each state receives what is rightfully theirs,” he stated. “We are committed to working in close collaboration with all state governments in the region, complementing their efforts toward regional development.”

Dr. Ogbuku emphasized that the Niger Delta region shares common challenges, and by uniting and strengthening partnerships, these issues can be addressed more effectively. He encouraged state governments to embrace further collaborations with the NDDC to advance the region’s development goals.
