NNPC Boss Visits NLNG Plant, Commends Role in Nigeria’s Energy Future

The Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.), Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, yesterday paid a working visit to the Nigeria LNG (NLNG) Plant in Bonny, Rivers State, where he lauded the company for its pivotal contributions to Nigeria’s energy transition, economic stability, and industrial growth.

Engr. Ojulari reaffirmed NNPC Ltd.’s commitment, as a shareholder, to supporting NLNG’s long-term growth trajectory. He unveiled strategic plans to boost gas infrastructure and tap into emerging opportunities in clean energy innovation—moves he said are vital to positioning Nigeria’s energy sector for competitiveness in a low-carbon, net-zero future.

A key highlight of the visit was the emphasis on the strategic value of NLNG’s Train 7 project. Described as a major catalyst for increasing Nigeria’s liquefied natural gas export capacity, the project is also expected to generate thousands of jobs and strengthen the country’s resilience in the global energy market.

The NNPC boss praised NLNG’s governance structure, sustainability practices, and outstanding asset integrity, describing them as hallmarks of operational excellence and a continuing source of national pride.
