Beneficiaries of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) foreign scholarships have honoured President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his support to the programme and the Niger Delta region.
The UK-based students presented an “Award of Appreciation” during the President’s State Visit to the United Kingdom, in recognition of what they described as unprecedented commitment to the initiative.
The award was received on behalf of the President by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, at a ceremony in London.

The beneficiaries expressed gratitude for increased funding of the programme, noting that it has enabled the deployment of many Niger Delta youths to top universities in the UK for undergraduate and postgraduate studies.
Also present at the event were the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Heineken Lokpobiri, and the PAP Administrator, Dennis Brutu Otuaro.
The scholars said the Tinubu administration’s investment in education and human capacity development is helping to reposition the Niger Delta.
They also noted the government’s broader commitment to accelerating development in the region through investments in infrastructure, environmental protection, and regional integration.
