PHCCIMA shows strong presence at Business Day/RIRS breakfast meeting

The Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (PHCCIMA) recorded a notable presence at a high-level breakfast meeting organised by BusinessDay Newspaper in collaboration with the Rivers State Internal Revenue Service (RIRS).

Representing PHCCIMA President, Dr. Chinyere Nwoga, was Elected Council Member, Engr. Joseph Habib Sule. Also in attendance was Chairman of the Financial Trade Group, Amb. Clement Akanibo, who participated as a panelist, alongside Fasthire Services Lead, Mr. Richard Okiasi.

The meeting, themed “Leveraging Nigeria’s Tax Laws to Enhance Profitability,” brought together key stakeholders to explore how businesses can optimise tax frameworks for growth. Resource persons at the event provided practical insights into navigating Nigeria’s evolving tax landscape.

In his remarks, the Executive Chairman of RIRS, Sir Israel Onwuanaku Egbunefu, highlighted the importance of understanding recent tax reforms. He noted that when effectively applied, these laws can help businesses protect profit margins, unlock legitimate savings, improve cash flow, and gain competitive advantage.

The event underscored the critical role of tax knowledge in driving business sustainability and profitability in Nigeria’s dynamic economic environment.
