The award, presented on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, recognises her outstanding service and contributions to the social-cultural heritage of Rivers people, as well as her efforts in promoting the spirit of oneness in Port Harcourt through her media platform, Eve Afrique News.

Founder of the Port Harcourt Comedy Club, Angel Attah, described Madam Ivy as an Amazon of the Niger Delta, noting that the recognition reflects her commitment to using media as a tool for change, cultural preservation, social cohesion, and community development.

Ivy Davies Etokakpan is also the convener of the Eve Afrique News Redball. The Eve Afrique News Redball, a charity and advocacy event which held its 15th edition in May 2025 in Abuja has consistently supported humanitarian causes while celebrating excellence and resilience across different sectors.

Eve Afrique News was conceived based on the realization that Niger Delta people/events and developing news items have not been adequately celebrated and told, this is in spite of their numerous exploits in different fields of human endeavors.

Eve Afrique News , therefore, took it upon itself to bridge this gap by celebrating our achievers/events and developing news here in Nigeria and in the Diaspora.

Eve Afrique News publishes both online across multiple platforms and through print editions, providing wide and accessible coverage for diverse audiences.

In her remarks, Madam Ivy thanked the organisers of the award and pledged her full support to the Port Harcourt Comedy Club, commending its role in promoting unity, culture, and entertainment in Rivers State.

The honour from the Port Harcourt Comedy Club further underscores the vital role of media in storytelling, advocacy, and in safeguarding the cultural identity of Rivers people.
