Parents of prospective students of the Rivers State University living outside the state who are yet to do their Biometric Verification in the School have lamented over the date of the fixed school’s post UTME Biometric Verification.
The Rivers State University has fixed its Biometric Verification for a week interval from 24th July to 4th August and the examination on 7th of August 2023 while NECO exams is ongoing.
However, some parents who reside outside the confines of the state expressed dissatisfaction with the date and scheduling of the post UTME screening exercise, reason that the date hamper with the ongoing NECO examination which the Children are sitting for and the strategy of coming for screening first before the Post UTME exams at a later date will be a herculean task for the students under the present harsh economic circumstances the country is facing.
The Concerned Parents speaking to our News Reporter expressing their dissatisfaction with the School post UTME screening exercise date said, “Imagine authorities in the Rivers State University of Science and Technology fixing the post UTME screening exercise between the 24th of July to the 4th of August, in the middle of the NECO examinations, the examinations proper will come up on a latter date. The implication is that candidiates currently writing the NECO exams in far away States will abandon their papers for a few days, travel to Port Harcourt, do screening, travel back to their bases and return for the exam proper later in August, in these hard times.”
The parents are calling on the university management to review the date for the School post UTME screening exercise to take into consideration the good number of Rivers Students residing outside the State.
