Pretty Mike, Club Supervisor Granted N50m Bail Over Drug Charges

Lagos socialite and nightclub owner, Mike Nwalie (Pretty Mike), and Proxy Lagos club supervisor, Joachim Hillary, were on Thursday arraigned before a Federal High Court in Ikoyi on drug-related charges filed by the NDLEA.

They were charged with conspiracy, possession of narcotics, and permitting the use of the club for drug activities. The alleged offences occurred on October 26, 2025, at Proxy Lagos on Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island.

NDLEA operatives reportedly recovered 200 grams of Cannabis Sativa and 177 cylinders of Nitrous Oxide (laughing gas) weighing 364.662kg during a party at the club.

Hillary was specifically charged with unlawful possession of the cannabis, while Nwalie was accused of allowing the premises to be used for the drug event. Both pleaded not guilty.

The NDLEA opposed bail, but defence counsel argued the defendants had no prior criminal records. Justice Ambrose Lewis-Allagoa granted each defendant bail of N50 million with two sureties in like sum, stressing that they remain presumed innocent.

They will remain in their counsel’s custody until bail conditions are met. Trial continues January 14, 2026.
