PROFFER TENABLE SOLUTIONS TO NATIONAL SECURITY CHALLENGES, IBAS TELLS AFCSC SENIOR COURSE 47 PARTICIPANTS
On Monday, 5th May 2025, participants of Senior Staff Course 47 paid a courtesy visit to the Rivers State Administrator, Vice Admiral (Rtd), Ibok Ete Ekwe lbas, at Government House in Port Harcourt.
The Administrator, who was represented by Prof Ibibia Lucky Worika, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), received the delegation led by the team leader and Director of Logistics of Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Commodore S.O Abdularaheen.
Vice Admiral Ibas said, “I am particularly thankful for selecting Rivers State as one of the states for your study.
“As you can agree with me, this study is relevant, critical and timely considering the palpable threat to security of life and property particularly in the State, which of course, makes our administration inevitable.
“It is our belief that security of life and property, and in particular, securing critical national assets and infrastructure, largely depends on credible information.
“It disturbs our utmost conviction that those who provide human capital that fuels insecurity in urban and remote areas include, of course our rural populace, subsits.
“Hence, any study channelled towards harnessing grassroot intelligence is worth embarking on as internal security without proper feedback mechanisms will be an illusion to be pursued but cannot be attained.
“As you embark on the interactive meetings with security agencies and other relevant stakeholders, I urge you not to make the study tour s mere academic odessey but a practical and personal in all facets of security applications.
“I am therefore, confident that the study will add to scholarship, contribute to the robust security architecture required for a safe and secured Rivers.”
In his remark, Commodore Abdularaheen said the delegation has eleventh staff members and 45 students making a total of 56 participants.
Commodore Abdularaheen explained that his team is one of nine other teams on tour to selected states.
He said they are guided by this year’s theme of:” Harnessing Grassroot Intelligence For Enhanced Internal Security”, to study, collate data and put them into reports with recommendations that will be adopted for implementation by strategic organisations.
