In a move to boost tourism in Rivers State, the government has officially handed over the Port Harcourt Tourist Beach to Landmark Group for development. This decision follows a memorandum of understanding reached between the two parties.
Hon. Dr. Israel Ngbuelo, the Honourable Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, represented the Rivers State Government during the handover ceremony. He praised the Executive Governor of Rivers State, His Excellency, Sir Dr. Siminalaye Fubara, for his commitment to investing in culture and tourism.
The development of the beach according to the commissioner is expected to create jobs, generate revenue, and position Rivers State as a top tourism destination. The Commissioner also emphasized the importance of the project, stating that it will attract tourists from around the world and place Rivers State at the forefront of tourism in Nigeria.
Engr Emeka Njuku, the site engineer of Landmark Group, expressed gratitude to the Governor and the Commissioner for trusting his company with the project. He assured that Landmark Group is committed to delivering world-class tourist facilities and creating new leisure experiences in Port Harcourt.
