Sanwo-Olu Hosts Progressive Governors, Reaffirms Support for Security, Economic Reforms

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, hosted members of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) in Lagos for a high-level meeting focused on national security, the economy, and citizens’ welfare.

In a statement after the meeting, Governor Sanwo-Olu said the forum reaffirmed its support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ongoing efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s security architecture, noting that the safety of citizens remains the first duty of government. He added that the governors committed to enhancing community-based security strategies and improving intergovernmental coordination.

The governors also reviewed current economic challenges facing Nigerians, acknowledging the pressure of ongoing reforms. Sanwo-Olu said the PGF recognised the resilience and patience of the people and resolved to deepen support for food production, small businesses, youth employment, and targeted relief for vulnerable households.

The meeting ended with a renewed commitment to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the full delivery of the Renewed Hope Agenda aimed at building a safer, stronger, and more inclusive nation.
