Senator Murray-Bruce Dumps PDP for APC, Backs Tinubu’s Reforms

Former lawmaker and founder of Silverbird Group, Senator Benedict Murray-Bruce, has announced his defection from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The ex-Bayelsa East senator made the announcement on Wednesday via a statement on his official X handle, declaring his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ongoing reforms.

Murray-Bruce said his decision was driven by confidence in the President’s leadership and vision for Nigeria’s economic transformation.

“I have known President Tinubu since 1998. He is not driven by applause but by results. The painful reforms we face today are the foundation of tomorrow’s prosperity,” he said.

The businessman praised the administration’s efforts in economic stabilization, deregulation of the fuel sector, improved security architecture, and infrastructural development, describing them as signs of “Nigeria’s rebirth.”

He added that his defection was not for political gain but for progress, expressing belief that Tinubu’s leadership would deliver “the Nigeria we have all dreamed of.”

“I choose to stand with reform. I choose to stand with the future,” he concluded.
