The Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara has enjoined Corps Members to strengthen their positive impact in the lives of Nigerians.
He stated this today at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Nonwa-Gbam in Tai Local Government Area during the closing ceremony of the 2024 Batch C Stream II orientation course for Corps Members deployed to Rivers State.
Represented by the Permanent Secretary, Cabinet, Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Hamilton Amadi, Governor Fubara urged the Corps Members, “see Rivers State as a fertile and ideal environment to live and uphold the rich values of the NYSC Scheme.”
He assured the Corps Members that his administration will remain “intentional and consistent” in ensuring that their welfare and security are not compromised.
Earlier, the State Coordinator NYSC Rivers State, Mr. Moses Oleghe, informed the Governor that the Corps Members have been well-trained and nurtured to give back their best to the society by their honest and selfless service to the nation.
He charged the Corps Members, “be disciplined and focused in the task of nation building and help your host communities address felt needs by embarking on Community Development Service projects.”
The Coordinator thanked the Governor and good people of Rivers State for their uncommon love, goodwill and support to Corps Members and the NYSC Scheme.
A total of 2442 Corps Members made up of 983 males and 1459 females successfully completed the 3 – week orientation exercise in the State.
