The Flagship Journal Holds 2nd Biennial Award Ceremony and Magazine Launch in Grand Celebration of Bille Kingdom’s Progress

Port Harcourt, Nigeria — October 27, 2025, In a colourful celebration of culture, intellect, and community excellence, The Flagship Journal held its 2nd Biennial Award Ceremony alongside the launch of its July–September 2025 quarterly magazine edition on the 25th of October, 2025 at the NBA Hall, Bank Road, Port Harcourt.

Themed “Consolidating Bille Kingdom Status in the 21st Century,” the event brought together distinguished personalities, community leaders, and professionals from diverse fields who share a common vision of advancing the legacy and influence of the Bille Kingdom in contemporary times.

The ceremony was chaired by Engr. Mark T. H. Williams, FNSE, FNSChE, whose leadership and commitment to excellence underscored the importance of the gathering in promoting development, education, and unity within the Niger Delta region.

Delivering the opening remarks and welcome address on behalf of the Chairman of the Planning Committee, Arc. Ibroma Kemuel, was Mrs. Precious Woko Jennifer, who warmly welcomed guests and commended the consistent efforts of The Flagship Journal in promoting intellectual advancement and cultural heritage through its publications and events.

A major highlight of the event was the keynote paper presentation by Barrister Alphonso Mattew Sibi, titled “Consolidating Bille Kingdom Status in the 21st Century.” His presentation offered deep insights into strategies for sustaining the relevance of Bille Kingdom through visionary leadership, education, and unity among its people.

The Royal Father of the Day, His Majesty King I.N.C. Herbert, FCA, Agbaniye-Jike XVIII, the Amayanabo of Bille Kingdom, was ably represented at the ceremony, a gesture that reflected the royal household’s unwavering support for initiatives that celebrate Bille heritage and promote community development.

Adding prestige to the occasion, the Special Guest of Honour, Sir Engr. Adokiye Tombomieye, OON, FNSE, FNSChE, officially unveiled the latest edition of The Flagship Journal’s quarterly magazine. In his remarks, he emphasized the need for continued investment in knowledge-sharing platforms that document and celebrate the contributions of Bille sons and daughters to national growth.

The event also featured an awards presentation, honouring distinguished individuals who have demonstrated excellence and contributed immensely to education, leadership, and the advancement of Bille Kingdom.
