“In fact, a state without a functional fire service station is partially a failed state because citizens will rely on the mercy of God when there is fire outbreak.

“I thank you our dear Governor, we love you, you are genuinely loved by Rivers people and Ikwerre people.

“This building will serve and secure lives and property within this area and we thank you for this very laudable project and others you have executed.

“Rivers people are feeling your impact in just mere less than two years in office.

“Every local government has witnessed your impact and your projects are directly touching on the citizens.

“We thank you for continuing governance without minding distractions all over.

“Its even very, very important to know that at the heat of this time, you are still going about commissioning projects, there are projects lined up for two weeks.

“You have come to serve Rivers State and be rest assured that Rivers people will protect this democracy and protect you.

“There is no pretense about it, the love is organic and we will make sure we continue to support you.

“As an Ikwerre man, this state gave us the privilege and honour to serve for 16 years and some months without any disruption.

“Equity demands, fairplay demands that we allow our Ijaw Ethnic Group to serve out their tenure.

“Be rest assured Your Excellency that you have the support of the Ikwerre National Ethnic Group.

“I want to use this opportunity to call on every reasonable Rivers sons and daughters, there should be an end to every conflict.

“Rivers State has been always in the news for the negative and we condemn that. We should borrow a leaf from our sister states.

“The Governors are ruling, governing their people, there is no friction anywhere.

“Yes, in human relation, there may be room for friction, there may be room for quarrel, but the most important thing is to but the state first.

“No personal interest should override that of the collective interest of the state. And I urge everyone using this opportunity to borrow a leaf from Lagos State.

“They quarrel, but they still come to round table and sort out their problem and the state moves on. Rivers State should borrow a leaf from Lagos State.

“Right now the state is in more or less turmoil, but we thank God, God will continue to give Your Excellency the grace and wisdom to manage this crisis and am absolutely sure that you will come up victorious.

“You will serve out your two tenures as statutorily provided in our constitution.”
