TINUBU DECORATES NEW SERVICE CHIEFS
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has charged the newly appointed Service Chiefs to deliver concrete results in the fight against terrorism and safeguard Nigeria’s sovereignty, especially amid the emergence of new terror groups.
Speaking at the decoration ceremony held at the State House, Abuja, the President commended the Armed Forces for their sacrifices and patriotism. He urged the new Chiefs to act decisively, embrace technology, and stay ahead of evolving dangers, assuring them of the Federal Government’s full support.
Those decorated include:
• Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, Chief of Defence Staff, who was decorated as a Full General
• Lieutenant General Emmanuel Undiendeye, Chief of Defence Intelligence (CDI)
• Major General Waidi Shaibu, Chief of Army Staff, decorated with the rank of Lieutenant General
• Rear Admiral Idi Abbas, Chief of Naval Staff, decorated as Vice Admiral
• Air Vice Marshal Kelvin Aneke, Chief of Air Staff, decorated with the rank of Air Marshal
The event was attended by several top dignitaries including the Vice President, Senate President, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Deputy Senate President, National Security Adviser, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, and the Chief of Staff to the President.
Also present were the Ministers of Defence and Information, the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, and heads of key security and anti-corruption agencies including the Police, DSS, NIA, EFCC, and NIMC.
