President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially signed into law a bill that establishes the North-Central Development Commission (NCDC), a move aimed at driving growth and development in the region.
Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, announced the signing during Tuesday’s plenary session in the Senate chamber.
The NCDC is expected to focus on boosting economic development, improving infrastructure, and enhancing social welfare programs across the North-Central states.
This new commission is part of the government’s broader initiative to address regional disparities and foster balanced development across Nigeria.
With the establishment of the NCDC, the North-Central region joins other geopolitical zones, such as the Niger Delta and North-East, which already have dedicated development commissions.
