Demonstrating his commitment to the well-being of his people, the Executive Chairman of Degema Local Government Area, Hon. Dr. Agiriye Monima Harry, has extended a helping hand to Bukuma community, which was recently ravaged by a devastating oil spill and fire outbreak.
Represented by the Secretary to Council, Hon. Mrs. Nelly Johnbull, the Chairman delivered palliative including food items to the affected community, aimed at alleviating their suffering and providing much-needed support.
During the handover ceremony, Hon. Mrs. Johnbull encouraged the community members to remain hopeful, assuring them that this challenging period will end in no distant time.
She reiterated the Harry led administration’s commitment to prioritizing the well-being of all Degema residents, including the most vulnerable members of the community.
In his remarks, HRH Nwamoema of Bukuma, King Stephen Jeremiah Tobins, Akee X, thanked the Chairman for his compassionate and timely intervention.
The monarch commended Dr. Harry’s consistent efforts in improving the lives of Degema residents since assuming office and further appealed to the administration to consider installing solar lights within the community, which has been grappling with a significant lack of electricity.
The event concluded with heartfelt prayers and a group photograph, marking a crucial step in the community’s recovery process.
