Harry and Meghan begin Melbourne leg of Australia tour

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have begun the Melbourne leg of their Australian tour, visiting the Royal Children’s Hospital and a women’s shelter.

The Duke and Duchess are spending three days in Melbourne attending charity events, private meetings and a ticketed conference.

At the hospital, they met patients and families, with Harry greeting attendees and Meghan hugging children. Some patients described the visit as emotional and uplifting.

They later joined therapy sessions and activities with young patients, including a session in the hospital’s therapeutic garden.

Meghan also visited McAuley Community Services for Women, which supports women facing homelessness and domestic violence.

The couple ended the day at the Australian National Veterans’ Art Museum, taking part in a pottery class with veterans’ children.

Harry is expected to attend a mental health event with the Western Bulldogs, while also making a brief stop in Canberra.

This marks their first visit to Australia since 2018 and since stepping back from royal duties.
