Take Oath of Fidelity or Face DNA Test Challenge, Soludo’s Wife Dares Senator Ekwunife

Anambra First Lady, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, has challenged Senator Uche Ekwunife to an oath of fidelity and paternity tests amid their ongoing political feud.

Mrs. Soludo, wife of Governor Chukwuma Soludo, issued the challenge after Ekwunife, who is the deputy governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), alleged that she had close ties with former governor, Dr. Chinwoke Mbadinuju.

In a statement released on Friday, Mrs. Soludo accused Senator Ekwunife of fabricating stories and involving her children in political disputes. She described the senator’s remarks as malicious, warning that unless they were withdrawn and an apology issued within 72 hours, legal action would follow.

According to Mrs. Soludo, a public oath would put questions of integrity to rest once and for all.

“Since Uche Ekwunife claims to be a converted Catholic, I challenge her for both of us to swear an oath of fidelity and chastity at any cathedral in front of the Blessed Sacrament and the Bible.

“I will swear (with my children) that in my 55 years on earth, I have known only one man—Chukwuma Soludo. On your part, you should also swear (with your children or your political ambitions) that since you got married, you have never cheated on your husband,” she declared.

The governor’s wife also invited Senator Ekwunife to undergo DNA testing.

“I challenge you, Uche Ekwunife, for us to subject our children to paternity tests in three reputable hospitals in London. I will pay all the expenses, including travel for you and your family,” she stated.

Mrs. Soludo further promised that if the test confirmed Ekwunife’s husband as the father of her children, she would congratulate her and present a cash reward.

Describing herself as a quiet family woman with Christian and conservative values, Mrs. Soludo emphasized her fidelity throughout 33 years of marriage.

“I married him as a virgin and my fidelity to him in 33 years of marriage and for life is ironclad,” she said.

She also highlighted that she had never worked for government or relied on public funds, even as Anambra’s First Lady.

Vowing to handle the matter with dignity, she likened her clash with Senator Ekwunife to a marathon: “My weapons are decency, character, and grace. I am a long-distance runner, and I welcome you to the marathon.”

The rift between both women stems from Governor Soludo’s recent questions over Senator Ekwunife’s academic qualifications, which drew sharp responses from the senator and prompted the governor’s wife to enter the fray.
