PHOTOS: Port Harcourt Boat Club 1947 gets new Trustees and Management Team

The Port Harcourt Boat 1947 on Nov 4th 2023 held it’s AGM with a very robust attendance after which New Trustees were ushered in and a new Management Committee elected after the dissolution of the HRH,King, Sir, Dr Kroma A. Eleki, JP, Ambassador of Peace, SARA X1V, AMAYANABO OF KUKA KINGDOM, led Management Committee.

The Club unanimously received HRH, King, Sir Dr Kroma Eleki, SARA X1V, Amanyanabo of Kula Kingdom, HRH, HRH, Sir, Henry Micah BITEREFIE Il, Segboruongu Gho Ayebabaraghobiterefie. AMADABO of Ono-Bio 1 of Sambo-Ama, Twon Brass Kingdom, Bayelsa State, Chief, Dr Abiye Sekibo, Achi 111, and Dr Bob Yellowe to join His Majesty King Alfred Diette Spiff, OFR, Amayanabo of Twon Brass and First governor of Rivers State as Trustees because other former trustees have passed on, while some declined on age related health circumstances.

Also a new Management committee with Professor Miebaka D. Tamunomiebi as Vice Commodore and Sir Dan Harrison as Rear Commodore and others were elected.

The other Management Committee who were elected are;

1.HRH DR. Oma Awoh JP. – Secretary

2. BARR. Ugochukwu Umunakwe- Treasurer

3. Mr. Dawari Songo, Filmmd – Membership Secretary

4. ENGR. Daso Medford George – Social Secretary

5. Mr. Dango Kala-Otaji – House & Grounds

6. MS. Princeba Prince – Bar & Kitchen

7. Sir Fubara Hart – Boating

The Port Harcourt Boat Club was created out of the desire to explore the rich waterways surround the state to encourage social and water sports such as; boating, yachting and other water related activities. The Port Harcourt Boat Club established in the year in 1947, three years before the Lagos motor boat club was founded in 1950.
